STUDY

Erasmus+ mobility for STUDY can last from 2-12 months during one level of study. The mobility must be carried out at one of the PULS partner universities with an ECHE Card, the list of which is published on the website.

For that kind of mobility can apply a person who is officially a full-time or part-time PULS student in a field of study leading to a bachelor's/engineer's, master's or doctor's degree. Students of at least the second year of first-cycle studies or at least the second year of uniform master's studies may participate in the recruitment process. In the case of second and third cycle studies, the mobility may take place already in the first year.

Foreigners studying at PULS must be physically in Poland at the time of recruitment and have appropriate documents confirming the legality of their stay (Schengen visa, temporary residence card).

Under the Erasmus+ program, it is possible to go abroad for studies and traineeships more than once, for a period not exceeding 12 months at each of the three levels of study, regardless of the type and number of mobility periods. In the case of uniform master's studies, a student may go abroad for studies and internships for a period not exceeding 24 months.

Mobility capital

The Erasmus+ program allows multiple mobility for studies and traineeships. Mobility capital determines how much time a given scholarship holder spent on a mobility and for what period of time he/she can still go/cannot go because he/she has exhausted his/her mobility capital. How to calculate your mobility capital?

  • mobility capital is 12 months at each level of studies (bachelor's, master's, doctoral) and applies to mobility for studies and traineeships (these periods add up and cannot exceed 12 months)
  • you can benefit from a maximum of 36 months of mobility (12 x 3 levels of studies)
  • for participants of long-cycle master's studies, the mobility capital is 24 months

ECTS scoring system in mobility under the Erasmus+

The ECTS scoring system makes it possible to measure and compare the results achieved by a student pursuing part of his studies abroad and gives the opportunity to transfer these results to complete the mobility period at the home university. ECTS points that are assigned to individual subjects determine the student's workload that must be incurred to obtain credit for a given subject in relation to the workload necessary to pass the semester (30 ECTS).

Obtaining the required number of points by a student provides the basis for passing a semester (year) of studies. The credit system does not eliminate grades; grades are used to assess a student's knowledge level.

The ECTS grading scale is an auxiliary grading scale adopted in the European Credit Transfer System, which facilitates the translation of grades obtained by a student at one university (i.e. according to the grading scale applicable at that university) to the grading scale of another university. It does not replace the grades awarded by a given university according to its own system, but only provides additional information about the student's work. Universities themselves decide how to apply the ECTS grading scale to their own system.

The grading scale used in PULS

Description in Polish grade ECTS grade in English
bardzo dobry - outstanding results, allowing only minor errors 5 A Excellent
dobry plus - above average standard, with some errors 4,5 B Very good
dobry - solid work, with a number of errors 4 C Good
dostateczny plus - satisfactory, with significant deficiencies 3,5 D Satisfactory
dostateczny - results meet minimum criteria 3 E Sufficient
niedostateczny - results do not meet the minimum criteria, the gaps must be filled or the entire subject must be repeated 2 F Insufficient

The aim of student mobility is to complete education at a foreign university and have its results counted towards studies at the home university. Credit is granted provided that the requirements specified in the Agreement on the so-called curriculum are met. Online Learning Agreement (OLA). The proper preparation of OLA is supervised by the ECTS Faculty Coordinator, who helps the student in selecting subjects to study at the foreign university, approves their final selection before departure, and after returning, recognizes the results obtained, converting them in accordance with the scale used at the home university.

In order to pass the semester, the student is obliged to obtain at least 30 ECTS, and if it is impossible to obtain the appropriate learning outcomes at the host university - to complete the missing subjects at the home university after returning. The Dean, in consultation with the ECTS Faculty Coordinator, may consent to establishing a program implemented abroad with a lower number of points (not less than 20), but to be completed upon return.

Final changes in OLA should be agreed and accepted by all parties within 4 weeks of the student starting classes abroad and entered in OLA during mobility. The approved OLA scan (signed by all parties) should be immediately sent to the Erasmus+ Office.

Qualification conditions for study mobility

Registration for study mobility in the next academic year (both for mobility in the winter or summer semester) takes place only once in a given calendar year. You can register only using the online form (active - mareked red) at the announced recruitment time (standard recruitment takes one month).

After completing the recruitment process, registered candidates are informed by e-mail about the date of the language exams, which constitute the basis for qualification. The Erasmus+ Office verifies the average from the last completed semester in the appropriate Dean's Office, which is also an important element of qualifications.

The basic criteria for qualifying students for studies are: knowledge of a language (English, German) in accordance with the requirements of the host university and average grade (from the last completed semester at PULS). The most important criterion is knowledge of a foreign language - to be qualified, you must obtain at least 3 points out of 5 in the language exam.

Points for average grade: 0 – 8 points (average from the last completed semester confirmed by the Dean's office):

3.0 - 3.24 (1 point)

3.25 - 3.49 (2 points)

3.5 -3.69 (3 points)

3.7 - 3.99 (4 points)

4.0 - 4.24 (5 points)

4.25 - 4.49 (6 points)

4.5 - 4.74 (7 points)

4.75 – 5.0 (8 points)

After adding up the points obtained, the candidate is informed about the recruitment result - if he is qualified, he is asked to choose the university to which he intends to goThe final decision regarding the selection of the partner university and the course program is accepted by the Faculty Coordinator, confirming with her / his signature OLA.

Before departure, the student signs a financial mobility agreement with PULS (place of mobility, date, financial conditions). For the duration of mobility, the student receives funding - the so-called individual support to compensate for the increased costs of living abroad - the funding is not intended to cover the full costs of the mobility. The rates are divided into groups depending on the country you are traveling to. Mobility without funding is also possible (so-called mobility with zero support).

After returning, the student is obliged to provide a written confirmation of the completed stay (Confirmation of Attendance) with the confirmed start and end date of mobility as well as a list of completed courses and ECTS points obtained (Transcript of Records). On this basis, after the grades are converted by the Faculty Coordinator, the Dean counts the semester spent abroad.

Financing

Funding in the academic year 2025/2026.
Individual support is intended to cover differences in living costs, not the costs that the student actually incurs while studying abroad. The amount of monthly individual support determined for the academic year 2025/2026 is not subject to change.

PULS finances a maximum of one semester in the 2025/26 academic year. The remaining period of studies will be considered a mobility period with zero funding. Within one qualification, each student can go to study and receive funding only once.

The rates of the monthly Erasmus + scholarship for mobility to individual countries are as follows:

Country EUR / month
Group 1 - Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Ireland, Island, Lichtenstein, Luxemburg, The Nederland’s, Germany, Norway, Sweden, Italy 670
Group 2 - Cyprus, Czech Republic, Estonia, Greece, Latvia, Spain, Malta, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia 670
Group 3 - Bulgaria, Croatia, Macedonia, Lithuania, Romania, Serbia, Turkey, Hungary 600

In addition to individual support for the duration of mobility, students can also count on financing for travel days immediately before and after the traineeship, where subsidy for travel costs without the use of low-emission means of transport is up to 2 days of travel; and in the case of travel using ecological means of transport (green travel) - a maximum of 6 days.
+ 2 days (1 day before and after mobility) to places distant from PULS within the range of 10 -1999 km (one way)
+ 4 days (2 before and 2 after mobility) to places distant from PULS within the range of 2000 - 3999 km (one way)
+ 6 days (3 before and 3 after mobility) to places distant from PULS within 4,000 and more km (one way)

From 2024, students will receive a lump sum for travel costs, and its amount depends on the distance. The official calculator developed by the European Commission is used to calculate distances, available at http://ec.europa.eu/programmes/erasmus-plus/resources/distance-calculator

The lump sum amount depends on the distance between the place of departure (PULS headquarters, i.e. Poznań) and the destination (official location of the institution hosting the study). The distance of the one-way trip must be taken into account to calculate the lump sum amount payable for the round travel.

The lump sum for travel costs will be settled on the actual travel by the participant, documented by a coach or train ticket or a declaration of travel by a private car. The ecological (green travel) means of transport recognized in the Erasmus + program are: bus, train, bicycle, carpooling - a joint journey of people on the same route, for the same purpose, by car of one of the co-passengers (more information about the system: https://pl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carpooling )    Travel: by plane, by ship (boat, ferry), by car - by motorcycle is not ecological. If the participant travels by car in the carpooling system, his statement should include information about sharing the means of transport with other people. A person traveling by car alone does not meet the green travel conditions.

A mobility participant whose travel dates, irrespective of the means of transport, coincide with the mobility start and end dates listed in the Confirmation of Attendance issued by the host institution, cannot receive the grant associated with the green travel option.

Students who meet the criteria included in the definition of "people with fewer opportunities" (those in a difficult financial situation or disabled people, qualified for study mobility 2025/2026 will receive an additional amount of EUR 250 for each month of stay.
They will be treated as people with fewer opportunities students with a documented right to receive a social scholarship from PULS or a disability certificate on the day the university makes a recruitment decision regarding study mobility financed under the 2024 project.

Persons with a current disability certificate may apply for co-financing other than standard related costs. with travel and subsistence during the stay abroad (based on a separate application submitted to the National Agency of Erasmus+).

Accommodation during mobility

Erasmus Play is a startup created by former Erasmus students who now want to pass on their knowledge and experience to future Erasmus students. It organizes talks for students, webinars, interesting content, guides, and above all, it operates a search engine for apartments, rooms and dorms, only with offers verified personally by partners. Interested students are asked for individual consultations regarding finding an apartment abroad.

The Poznań University of Life Sciences is not responsible for the quality of published accommodation offers.

Partner Universities - where to go for study

Study mobility under Erasmus+ can only be carried out to partner universities with which the Poznań University of Life Sciences has signed agreements. The list of universities is subject to changes - new contracts are signed with subsequent universities or the scope of existing cooperation is expanded, but it also happens that cooperation is suspended (lack of interest in exchange due to the profile of a given university or language restrictions).

Each university has its own individual application deadlines and may require additional application documents (apart from OLA).

Each university has its own Erasmus code. When applying, please use the correct Erasmus code. Poznań University of Life Sciences (PULS) has the code PL POZNAN04.

Documents

Then most important and  mandatory document that a student completes before going to study at a partner university is the Online Learning Agreement (OLA). The student, in consultation with the Faculty Coordinator, selects subjects from the host university's offer, appropriate for a given field of study. The document is first signed by the student and approved by the Faculty Coordinator and a representative of the partner university. In addition to OLA, partner universities may also require completing an application form appropriate for a given university (e.g. online) or a list of courses completed at the home university before departure, the so-called Transcript of Records (ToR). Only subjects (starting from the first year of studies in PULS) completed with an exam, grade and ECTS points are entered in ToR.

It is necessary to provide information about bank details to the account in EUR to which individual support will be transferred, which enables the signing of a university-student agreement specifying the tasks, rights and obligations of the outgoing student and the deadline for their implementation. Financial support may be provided to those leaving the country only if all terms of the contract are accepted.

Typically, students do not receive a lump sum for travel, but if they meet the green travel conditions, they are entitled to EUR 50 for travel. The condition for green travel is to travel using low-emission means of transport. Before signing the financial agreement, you must submit a Declaration of completion of the green travel in both directions. The settlement of the lump sum for travel costs will be the submission of a green travel Statement documented by a bus or train ticket or about traveling by car shared with other people.

Students who carry out mobility in the winter semester may apply for an extension of their stay for the summer semester of the same academic year and at the same university. Interested persons should submit an appropriate application to the Dean of their Faculty by December 31, 2024. However, the University does not guarantee financing for the period of extended mobility - it depends on the availability of funds.

The student is obliged to provide the Erasmus+ Office with written confirmation of mobility within the given deadline (Confirmation of Attendance) at the foreign university. Moreover, after completing studies, the participant is obliged to provide a Transcript of Records, i.e. a list of grades for completed courses. The grades are converted to the Polish scale by the Faculty Coordinator and transferred by the Erasmus+ Office to the appropriate Dean's Office for completion of the semester.
